BUTTERFLY KISSES (aka Butterfly): Butterfly is a 9yr old registered paint and has been the favorite lesson horse for 4 years now and every student here has ridden her at least once. Butterfly is kind and gentle which is great for young kids and even first time adults, although where she really excels is in the jumper ring. Butterfly is a fearless jumper who will take any jump. Butterfly is a great show horse; she has gone to many local shows including the Erie County Fair and this year she was grand champion in the cross rail division.

FOR PETES SAKE (aka Pete): Pete is a 23yr old appendix quarter horse. Pete has trouble keeping weight on and is currently not doing any lessons as we are still continuing to work with our vet Dr. Best, along with Dr. Dimayo (Chiropractor). We plan for Pete to be a future walk trot lesson horse.

MINNIE MOUSE (aka Minnie): Minnie is a 22 year old pony. Children love her unique coloring and amazing vocals that can be compared to a goat. Unfortunately due to some issues with lameness and foundering she has been off for the past year. With the vet and farrier’s ok Minnie has recently been slowly put back into work. She is enjoying every minute of it. She is an “athletic handful” for intermediate riders as this speedy little pony can keep up with any full sized horse!

SKIPS BLAZING GLORY (aka Skip): Skip is 16hh, 17yr old quarter horse. As the lesson program grows so does the need for beginner friendly horses which is exactly what Skip is. Don’t let his size fool you. Skip is safe, dependable and gives young children the experience of riding as he does the majority of the younger, smaller kid lessons. (Skip has a 4year old ride him every week). He is great at teaching new jumping students how to jump as well and has competed at the 2 foot level.

MR. UNPREDICTABLE (aka Tonto): Tonto is our youngest (7yrs old) but very promising pony. He may seem like a cute little button but he can sure give our kids a challenge. He has come an incredibly long way in the 3 years he has been at Newstead. He is a very smart and athletic pony, with the ability to jump fences up to 3’. He competed at many shows this year including the south town summer series shows, where he won 1st place over all for the entire show season in the cross-rails division and won hunter horse of the year.
